I lived in Ein-Hashofet for a year in 1973. I was ther during the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Some of the best memories of my life were created at kibbutz. Some of my best friends. I also found a wife there!
Wonderful havere-kibbutzniks and friends. If anyone remembers me please email me, I would love to communicate with you about our experiences.

I think about the kibbutz at least once per day and woull love to hear from people that were there with me! I still keep in touch with a handful but there are some missing. I would have to say that my time in Israel was the best time of my life!

I am the last living male of the Singerman family. Gershon Ben Avram Ben Benjamin. The lastt time I spent with Nunick was on his last trip to America.
He was very persusive for me to return to Isreal. But unfourtunitly I had just met the Women that 40 years later this coming August 4th we will have been married 38 years.
I had spent time as a active member of Hashomir Hatzier. I wanted to go at age 16 to be involved in the six day war instead I wound up that summer at Camp Shomir in Liberty new York and upon returning to Queens New York I became Rosh Ken on Hillside Ave.
On the pages of Google there is a Blog asking for information about our Uncle stating that 40 years ago she had spent time with Nunick in Isreal while I went cross country and was going to suprise the person I believe to be the
authorr of this blog.spending time forty years ago with Nunick. I spoke to her on the phome while she was in Isreal and i i TOO WAS Blessed spending time whith her Father a wonderful 2week overnight in Oklahoma City with her father a sweet wonderful man who taught me who my father was. Anyone who is reading this knows I am the Son of Abe (Zingie) Singerman. who passed yesterday 2 years ago. To join my mother. Zingie often ttalked about going to see Nathan, in some respect he did. He went to Nunicks unveiling, and for me it is still on my bucket list Zingie was studing agriculture @ the then agi campus of Newtown High and now is the campus, and has been for about sixty years Queens College. He and Nathan were going to go on Allyah when on my faters 18th birthday he had a terriblle accident and before he was able to see the right Physcians gangreen set in and he lost all but two of his fingers on his left hand and being who he was he did not go with Nunick because he didn't want to be a burden to the Jewish Homeland
As I have read Nunick was thought of as one of the fathers of Ein Hashofett> Not because he was my father, one of six brothers and one sister, that made it to America my father in my eyes was the Ambassodor of the (Zingerman Singerman) Family if anyone of my cousins feel that he didn't desrve that title I'm sorry if I hurt anyones feelings.
Being as such that this started out as a request in conjuction with the request already made I too am intrested in any info about MY UNCLE NUNICK. Chazak ver matz

I stayed at Ein Hashofet as a volunteer for 3 months this year from February through May and had one of the best experiences of my life. It is a wonderful kibbutz in general, it has great amenities and all the kibbutzniks i met were very friendly and welcoming as well as all the other volunteers and i felt very much a part of the community. The one problem i had was the people in charge of the volunteers. They were shockingly unhelpful at times and i felt as though me and the other volunteers were treated more like slave labor by them. I felt they had way to much power over us and whatever they said was law. For example they could ask you to leave the kibbutz the very same day for no valid reason other than just not liking you. Other than that i had a great time, overall i thought this was a wonderful kibbutz and would definitely recommend it!

I spent nine months at Ein Hashofet in 1893. 3 months as a volunteer then the Ulpan. Vera was the mitnadevet then. I had possibly the best time of my life and a transforming one in many ways. I will never forget the people, especially my teacher (Yudit?) who I hold as a standard for my own language teaching now. All the best to those who were there then. Regards

Gee, Josh, my experience was entirely different, although it was over 30 years ago and as a volunteer, rather than the ulpan. Of course, back then there were whiney, lazy assed lprivileged American kids who could not believe that they actually had to work for a change and who made those around them, including the kibbutzniks, miserable. You sound like one of them.
